Ralph Tetta got started in standup comedy in the spring of 1988,
conveniently just after the comedy boom had passed and any chance of
earning any real money or recognition in the industry had safely passed.
After dabbling in radio and improvisational comedy, and writing comedy
columns for local magazines and newspapers, Ralph was General Manager of
the Comix Cafe in Rochester, NY for four years. Gypsy feet
prevailed, and now Ralph is living his dream as a road comic in comedy
clubs all across the country.
Blending a healthy disdain for the frivolous way in which we fritter
away our national heritage with nipple rings, dumbed-down movies and TV
programs with a real sense of humor, Ralph can be found entertaining (and
occasionally alienating and causing discomfort to) comedy club and college
audiences. He is fast becoming a household name with his
unapologetic observations on current events, social issues, and the
various demons that plague him, such as weight loss, marriage, and body
piercings.
A Gene Perret (Bob Hope's head writer) disciple with a real affection
for Lenny Bruce, George Carlin, Robert Townsend, Eddie Murphy, and Bill
Hicks, Ralph tells the truth ("Because I want to") and the truth
is not only funny, but it will set you free. Ralph currently lives
comfortably with his wife Pamela Ruth Davis and two cats, Smokey and Snax
The Cat.
Some of Ralph's notable accomplishments include a feature role as
"Mr. Braun" in the pilot episode of Court of Common Sense
starring Kevin Meaney and John Pinette, a feature spot on Fox TV's Comedy
Cabaret, TV Commercials that include It's Official for Sprint Long
Distance and two Guy Fix It for various auto glass clients across the
country, and opening for Police Academy sound effects man Michael Winslow,
Bobby Slayton, Jimmy "JJ" Walker, Bobby Collins, Bob Nelson, Dom
Irrera, Bobcat Goldthwait, Kevin Pollak, Kevin Meaney, Denis Leary, Jimmy
Shubert, Bill Hicks, Adam Sandler, Thea Vidale, Norm MacDonald, Angel
Salazar, Colin Quinn, Phil Nee, Taylor Mason and many others. |
