"Kaptain-Kitchen"
After learning to cook and fix up "K"-Rations in Vietnam, (hence the "K" on
Kaptain), Joe Dunckel came home and cooked for his girlfriend. She married him, and he's been happy to cook for her ever since. She even gets a laugh every now and then.
After graduating from EMU in 1974, Joe worked as an actor at theaters from Nashville to Texas.
In 1978 he founded the "Wits End" comedy club in Lansing, Michigan. The club moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1980 and stayed open as the "Comedy Den" for over twenty years.
From 1982 until 1987 Joe produced, directed and worked as a comic for the "We Can Make You Laugh" and
"Krack Me Up" Comedy Game shows. These shows performed at over seven hundred colleges and universities and were placed on the final ballot for "College Entertainers of the Year" by
"NACA" three years in s a row.
Since 1987 Joe has been "Entertaining Drunks" at major comedy clubs across the country. His TV and Radio credits include, "Comedy
Spotlite" with Bob Zany on National Comcast Cable Network. The national edition of "PM Magazine", a national Harley-Davidson commercial and the "Bob and Tom Show".
Joe Dunckel has performed for The Ford Motor Company, the Detroit Lions, and the
Magic Johnson Corporation. He has appeared with stars like Louis Anderson, Tim Allen, Lewis Black, Gallagher, and The Temptations.
